Our Thoughts are with our Canadian Counterparts

Posted By: Katie Appold Industry News,

As we prepare for Inform USA’s upcoming national conference, we want to take a moment to recognize the thoughtful conversations happening across our community, including among our valued partners and peers in Canada.

We are aware that some individuals and organizations in Canada are weighing the decision to participate in U.S.-based events due to the current political and social climate. We respect and honor those with concerns, and we understand that each person must make the choice that aligns with their values and sense of safety.

At the same time, we are incredibly grateful for Inform Canada’s continued engagement and partnership. Their past and present participation in the Inform USA national conference reflects a shared commitment to cross-border collaboration and to the idea that our work—supporting equitable access, stronger communities, and effective social systems—is deeply interconnected.

The challenges we face today—whether they relate to healthcare, social support, housing, or food access—are not confined to geography. They demand collaboration that stretches across boundaries. The community building and networking at the conference represent that spirit of shared learning and mutual support that has always been core to our mission.

Travel decisions are deeply personal; not everyone will feel comfortable attending this year. We respect those choices fully and remain committed to offering meaningful ways to stay connected in person and virtually.

This is a time not to pull apart but to come together in solidarity—across differences, across regions, and across borders. Our shared purpose is bigger than any one moment, and we are grateful to walk this path together.

With gratitude,

Pam Hillier, Inform USA Board President
