Connecting Persons with Low Vision, Blindness or other Disabilities to Reading
The National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS) administers a braille and talking book library service for people with temporary or permanent low vision, blindness, or a physical, perceptual, or reading disability that prevents them from using regular print materials for U.S. citizens residing in the United States, its outlying areas, and for U.S. citizens living abroad. Through a national network of cooperating libraries, NLS circulates books and magazines in braille or audio formats that are instantly downloadable to a personal device or delivered by mail free of charge. During this webinar, attendees will learn more about NLS services, eligibility criteria, how to find the cooperating library in their area, and how they can help eligible individuals sign up for services.
